This programme combines the Best of Libya and the Great Sahara. Where in the world can you feel so free, so safe and breathe such a clean air in an untouched nature? It is here, in the heart of the Sahara, come and see! The journey offers an exciting but low risk adventure. And – you are travelling with authentic desert inhabitants, very experienced, kind and hospital Bedouins and Tuareg. As on all our tours there will be plenty of opportunities for walking, during lunch breaks and from campsites. Your camp will be mostly in pristine countryside. All meals are cooked for you and the evenings will be spent around campfires under a starry sky. Included in the itinerary are two days in the famous Acacus mountains containing some of the world’s best examples of cave art, some dating back 12’000 years, the picturesqe Ubari lakes in the midst of the high dunes, a visit to Ghadames, the “pearl of oasis”, the superb historical Leptis Magna and charming Tripoli.

Very characteristic the table mountains, sometimes moon landscapes, stony deserts, large dry wadis and maybe with a little bit of luck you even see some of the beautiful Dorcas gazelles. Waw an Namus (the name means hole of mosquitos) is a now-extinct volcano with several stunning crater lakes surrounded by reeds, palmtrees, black and white sand to see and swim in. The volcano offers a pleasant walk. Very interesting the petrified forests nearby.
