Programme as PDF (download)

The programme takes you to the most beautiful “angle” of Fezzan, the Southwest of Libya, and combines the Tuareg culture and desert in a perfect way. The annual Ghat Festival is famous for its authentic folklore, music, dancing and the Tuareg camel races. A three days stay inside the Acacus mountains to explore and see fascinating up to 12’000 years old rockpaintings as well as an exciting dunedrive to the Ubari lakes in the midst of the sandsea are part of this tour. A visit to Leptis Magna completes this exciting itinerary. In the desert all meals are cooked for you and evenings are spent round campfires under a starry sky. You will almost never camp within sight of other people and often in pristine countryside. There are plenty of opportunities for a few hours walking from campsites or during lunch stops.
